I wrote about my efforts to limit my complaining a few times earlier this year.
This was 28 June, 2012 Yes, I use military time on my phone. |
Right now, the weather in Saint Louis, Missouri is really trying my patience.
I am trying not to complain since everyone is hot.
I am trying not to complain because I see people stuck outside in the heat; I drive past homeless people who have no access to air-conditioning; I see people in cars with their windows open and I assume they have no AC in the car.
It is getting hard, though.
At least the humidity is not really high - though you can't tell by the soaking of my shirt minutes after stepping outside.
I'll take the snow and enjoy it. I'll take the spring storms - wind, hail, heavy rain and all. I'll take traffic jams. But this heat is just making me GRUMPY!! Grrr...
ReplyDeleteI understand. It makes me upset to open the door and literally have the heat hit me in the face.
DeleteGood for you for striving to accept without complaining. I've no such aspirations, so I'll say it straight-up: I HATE THIS FLIPPIN' HEAT, PLEASE, GOD, DON'T LET THE A/C OR ELECTRICITY FAIL!!!
ReplyDeleteAhem. And I'm with Beckey - gimme the frigid snows anytime. :-)
Some Dark Romantic
If the AC broke, I'm sure I would change my mind about complaining! I can't imagine that and wouldn't wish that on anyone.
DeleteI have never complained about the summers here because well they have always been hot I know to expect it so when May came around and said "oh I wish it would stop raining" I quickly say yeah tell me that when we hit the 1st day of a good old fashion summer day. I prepare to clean fans off from the yucky grime that collects on them and just say "it's not so bad it's not so bad as long as you can get some air moving" FYI it doesn't always work out so good for me but I try to not complain either :)) hang in there stay cool and have a relaxing weekend :))
ReplyDeleteIt's hard - I'm sure I've slipped with this heat and when the sweat was dripping down my back minutes after exiting the comfort of AC - but I do try.
DeleteI hate the heat and it is 98 degrees in NYC and there is nothing worse than walking down 92 stairs in the subway (they seem to turn them off in the heat...) and staring in the suffocating subway platform...I am praying for rain... I know we need sun, but anything over 90 just makes me unhappy..I guess I was complaining about it on my blog and a lady from the Netherlands wrote that she wanted some and all it is doing is raining... Happy medium is what would be nice... Stay cool!
