Thankful

This happened a few nights ago close to where I live.  It is actually a complex I considered moving into before settling on my place.

So horrible.  I drove by there yesterday to get a more real view of it and it was just awful.

Makes me really want to get renters' insurance and really thankful that I have not had to deal with disasters that have really ruined parts of my life in such a way.

Last night a young person shot up a movie theatre during the opening night of the new Batman movie.

Makes me thankful that nothing like that has occurred to me or my people.

Also make me angry about the lengths people will go to to show their hate.

  1. I can relate to your sentiment! I think it is a horrible tragedy. There was a three month old baby that was wounded. It is so sad that there are some people that have no conscience regard for human life.

    1. It is all so shocking and gets even more so when we begin to hear about the shooter and his home and eventually his reasoning.

    1. It really is horrible!! I cannot imagine how I would react if I had people close to a situation such as those with great amounts of violence.

  3. So terrible! Those poor people.

I always had renters insurance when I lived in apartments. It's actually rather reasonably priced. I was always lucky to live in areas that had houses with apartments available and didn't have to live in large complexes like this one.

Fire is such a scary thing, so devastating and deadly and can wipe out a life times worth of possessions in a flash. And if your luck enough to get out alive it takes forever to recover financially.

And that Batman movie shooting, to horrible for words.

    1. I need to get some renters' insurance for sure. The way fire impacts homes in situations like this and also the wild fires out west is really scary!

  4. So glad you are safe and that by being so close it hasn't spilled out towards your safety. Tis is a horrible crime that needs us all as a country to not lay blame on any un necessary sources except for the shooter himself. We need to hold ALL those effected by this up in prayer.
    YES renters insurance!!

    1. Thanks! I am sure blame will be pointed mainly to him, but also that people will find others to blame as well.

  5. Glad nobody was killed in that horrific fire. I would definitely look into renters insurance. I had it when I lived in an apt. and it wasn't too expensive (not like what I have to pay for my house here in the 'burbs". ) My coworker had renters insurance a month ago and when her upstairs neighbor left the water running and went to work (who does this?) it flooded her apt and ruined so many things... Key is to document your belongs and record them on video and in writing too. She had to have lists of stuff. So sad about CO, I had to turn off the TV today.

    1. I really need to look into it. I have now heard from many that it is super cheap and easy to get.

I also need to start documenting my belongings... even if I buy a house, I need to do that.
