Ready for Hurricane Sandy.
I've got food, candles, batteries, a nice comfy blanket to lay under. Hoping the power does not go out as I sit here listing to the strong wind blowing against my windows.
I made the rookie storm mistake of not getting any wine, or booze.
Lesson learned.
NO WINE??? Good luck today. Will be praying for all of you!!!!
ReplyDeleteStay safe! I hear you're going to get it hard! Will be thinking of you and praying for your safety.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteAlready really high winds and rain.
Oh oh, stay safe. Fingers crossed. I'll be praying for you *kisses*
ReplyDeleteStay safe! And fill your tub with water.
ReplyDeleteHadn't heard of this. Just looked it up... very good idea.
DeleteThanks!
Glad you are prepared, stay safe and let us know you are ok when you can ;-)
ReplyDeleteThanks, will do!
DeleteI'll echo all the other commenters and tell you to be safe. Read today that in emergencies you have a better chance of having a text go through than a voice mail or email (but you probably already knew that).
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteI actually hadn't heard that. I will keep that in mind as it goes on. I have been getting calls from all over the world from relatives and friends checking in.
Be safe!! We folks out west are thinking of you eastcoasters...xoxo
ReplyDeleteThanks!!
DeleteHope you are surviving without wine or booze. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks! I was able to go out and get some today, but, alas, now I have a cold and don't even feel like drinking.
DeleteSorry Sandy brought you a cold. Could be worse, I suppose, but still... Hope you feel better soon!! :)
DeleteDefinitely could have been worse for me! Thanks for the well wishes!
DeleteStay safe!
ReplyDeleteUh, well, I would've also suggested you get a mattress and use your bathtub as a place to hide in with the mattress on top if a tornado comes your way. That's what my parents always told me to do as a kid when we had hurricanes in Louisiana. That and stay away from the windows during the storm.
ReplyDeleteXD But you can't get in the bathtub if you fill it with water.
And Pff--I know most people say they drink alcohol during a hurricane, but we don't because then when the power goes out, it's not cold anymore. It's a bad idea to keep opening and closing the fridge or ice chest because then you lose coldness and run the risk of food going bad.
Another storm tip I had not heard of with the tub and mattress. Good point with the food and the cold. They have been passing out dry ice to people in hopes they can use it to keep their off fridges cold.
